A Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region comprising of Ladakh, J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from 26th January, after that; in quick succession few more WDs are expected the affect the region till first week of February 2024. Hence the long lasting dry spell is likely to end soon.
Between 26-27th January, Rainfall and Snowfall activities are likely in parts of Ladakh, J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Higher hills would receive Snowfall, lower regions may receive Rains with Hails and isolated Snowfall. Plains of Kashmir have low possibility to receive considerable snowfall from this WD, though the region may receive rains; higher reaches have good chances for receiving snow.
Plains of Northwest India currently does not hold any significant possibility of Rains or thundershower on 26-27 January. Cold Day conditions are expected to continue over Plains of Northwest India during next few days with daily variations in Maximum temperatures. Minimum temperatures are likely to fall over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh during next few days.
